At the long-awaited JEC World event next week, the collaborative Sustainability Showcase Car, developed and manufactured in partnership with KS Composites (KS), will be revealed. The car highlights ten individual advanced material solutions that demonstrate how prepregs can be tailored to deliver high-performance materials with reduced environmental impact. This sustainability showcase car project highlights SHD’s innovation in future materials alongside KS’s expert manufacturing capabilities.
Fueling Sustainable Innovation: CompPair's role in the showcase car
CompPair was delighted to be selected as one of the material providers for the car showcase by supplying its HealTechTM technology integrated in prepreg materials for the manufacture of this camera housing. In Formula 1, a camera housing is a lightweight, high-performance component designed to securely mount the camera under extreme conditions, ensuring high-definition footage of the race car in action. The part was manufactured in an autoclave demonstrating CompPair’s compatibility with typical Formula 1 manufacturing processes and quality standards and its capability to deliver healable prepregs for composite structures. This innovation not only supports motorsport applications but also extends to mobility, sport, and aeronautical sectors, reflecting the Swiss company’s strong potential for a wide integration within the composites industry.
